What is CSMT?

Yale’s Center for Studies in Music Technology is a facility that has been designed by musicians for musicians. Its director, Jack Vees, has a long career as both a composer and electric bassist. Besides having the latest state-of-the-art hardware and software, CSMT takes all new students from their own level of experience and allows them to design their own interactive education.

In fulfilling its mission to provide both a practical and theoretical knowledge base, CSMT has presented a great number of guest artists over the years. Also, in a world that can present a dizzying array of technological possibilities, CSMT acts as a guiding gateway to the abundant technological resources that Yale offers through a number of campus organizations.
