Norfolk Listening Club
Free and Open to the Public. Battell House space is limited to twenty-five people per session. Designed to be fun and engaging, the Norfolk Listening Club is an opportunity for both the experienced concertgoer and the classical music novice to enjoy an informal discussion of chamber music among friends, old and new. No background in music is necessary. We’ll discuss what’s behind the music (the composers and their times), what to listen for, and what makes it great. We aim to satisfy your curiosity and provide a deeper appreciation of the heart of the Festival’s programming: classical chamber music. Festival Manager James Nelson leads the discussion and the listening, but our goal is to have you actively involved — tell us what you hear, what you like (and don’t like), and how the music speaks to you. Sessions are held in the recital of Battell House, on the Festival grounds in Norfolk, Connecticut. Space is limited to twenty-five people per session, first come, first served. You do not need to sign up for all sessions to participate. Add your name to our e-mail list or call 860.542.3000 to be notified of upcoming sessions. Performance dates:
