Yale makes so many cutting edge technologies available to the student community both online and at resource centers throughout the campus. The following is a guide to frequently asked questions.

How do I connect to the Yale network off-campus?

If you want to connect to the Yale network from off campus, all you need is your netID. Log in to the Yale Software Library and download VPN - Cisco Client software. Follow the instructions for installing the software. Open the application and enter your netID and password when prompted to connect.

How do I use Yale's wireless network from my laptop?

To connect to the free wireless network on the Yale campus, all you need to do is register your machine. Most places on campus have wireless services available: Leigh Hall, Sprague Hall, 320 Temple, HGS, and Bass Library

Where can I find affordable computer software?

The Yale Software Library has many useful programs and applications for download. Some are freeware while others offer educational discounts.

How can I transfer large files without using e-mail?

Log on to Yale's File Transfer facility where you can securely send files up to 200 MB in size.

Where is the computer store at Yale?

Yale has a comprehensive E-Portal where you can purchase all computer supplies while also enjoying special Yale pricing on some products

Visit the Yale Phonebook to look up colleagues in the Yale community.
